"The Three Bears" diptych found its beginnings at an event honoring "Smokey Bear". Lauren began the under-painting live at the event for the Gallery at Legacy West.

This whimsical diptych is of a mother bear and her two cubs climbing a tree among the butterflies. "I love the juxtaposition of the delicate nature of the butterflies with the unstated strength of the bears. The mother looking deeply at you from behind he tree, and her cubs carefully climbing. The sensation you get is not of danger but recognition and respect.
